Party Games And Activities

After you get everything decorated and ready to go, you can use your imagination to create some very fun Halloween party games and activities to keep your guests entertained while at the party. These games range from races to traditional games to make sure everyone can have fun. We carry many of the products involved in these ideas right in our store so you do not need to go searching for these items around the web.

Dress Up Races

Supplies: The party planner/host may use any Halloween costumes and Halloween costume supplies that may be silly to wear or difficult to put on to make the game a bigger challenge. Supplies like Halloween masks, Halloween eye glasses, and Halloween tights/gloves/boas/and capes are very great to use.
Preparation: Separate the participants into two groups that will stand in straight lines behind a starting line.  Lay out the clothing articles at a distance indicating where participants must run to get the clothing articles.
Goal: There are a few different ways that you could play this game. Here are some of the options.

The first person in line must dress in the clothing provided, in an order to be chosen by the host (ie. Mask first, then costume, followed by gloves, and so on…).  Halloween Costume Party SuppliesOnce the person is dressed they must do an action determined by the host (turn around 10 times, or run to one location and back; these options are endless).  After the participant has completed the task they must remove the clothing in a specific order so the next person in line can complete the same task.  This continues until everyone in the line has completed the task.  The team that goes through all of their players first, wins.

Another option is to set the clothing and costume accessories at a distance, which can be determined by the game planner, and then have one person that will wear all of the clothes. Each member of the team runs the distance and brings back an article of clothing. The one person who wears the clothing adds to his outfit everything brought back. Once the clothing is back and the person who is getting dressed is fully dressed he/she will race to the opposite end of the course for the finish. Some people choose to have the participants that are dressed up, remove the costume supplies on the other end for the finish. It is up to you how you play this game.

Traditional Games & Activities

Bob for Apple: Unfortunately we no longer carry bobbing tubs, but bobbing for apples is a traditional Halloween game that has undergone many changes through the years in terms of symbolism and significance. It is now a great game for all ages to play at any Halloween party. All you need is a tub filled with water and some apples, and some fun loving guests ready to play. The first player to bite onto an apple and remove it from the tub with his/her teeth wins. There are always other ways you can play this game. If you have other fun ideas let us know.

Costume Competition: A costume competition is one of the best activities for Halloween parties. Costume competitions are fairly simple to prepare for, and very fun to participate in. To make the competition worthwhile you can get sash awards Halloween Award Ribbonsfor your best dressed guests. There are a wide variety of awards from which to choose, so you can reward people based on category of costume rather than simple "Best Costume." We have ribbons for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, best, most original, scariest, hottest, funniest, cutest, and more. If you want to make your party even more interesting make it a themed costume Halloween party. You could do a Marvel heroes or villains party where everyone has to come as a hero or villain and the best adaptation wins. Or you could simply make it an individual character; best dressed Frankenstein, Dracula, and so on.

Haunted House: Partypro carries more than enough Halloween party supplies and party decorations to allow for any Halloween decorator to make an indoor or outdoor haunted house. To make your Haunted House really scary, giveSpider Web Party Decorations individuals working in the haunted house, creepy Halloween masks so they can run around and be creepy. For general atmosphere you can never have too many spider webs in the area to make everything look old and broken down. Many choose to use strobe lights, but this should only be done if you know your guests and know that none of them will be adversely affected by the use of those lights.
